Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire,
Jr. unsuccessfully defended his WBA Feather Weight belt against the Jamaican
fighter Nicholas “The Axe Man” Walters held at Stubhub Center; Carson,
California USA last October 19, 2014.
The undefeated Jamaican champion
fighter proved that he is the king in featherweight division. In the sixth
round of the fight, a devastating and cracking right straight to the head of
Donaire ended the fight. Donaire tried to catch his sense to continue but he
failed to recover and the referee stopped the fight. Moreover, a solid upper
cut of Walters knocked down Donaire in the last 30 seconds of round three.
Walters really proved that he is a great knock out artist.
Being an expert fighter in the
featherweight division, the 28 – year old Jamaican fighter, Nicholas Walters’s
underdog the much older, 31 – year old Filipino fighter, Nonito Donaire.
Walters dominated the fight and made his new record: 25 wins – 0 loss – 0 draw
with 21 wins via technical knock outs.
“I really respected Nonito. He is a
very good fighter. He is my favorite opponent”, said by Walters during an
interview. “It was a spectacular fight and I really admire Nonito”, he added.
“Nicholas was a great and strong
fighter. He is so talented fighter and I’m thankful to him for the great
fight”, Donaire said during the interview. “I’m thankful for those who came for
the fight”, he added. Donaire was sorry for unsuccessfully defending his featherweight
belt.
