Day of Remembrance- Muslim Community

Islamic Festival "Eid-ul-Adha", Muslims around the world observes this yearly event to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah's (God's) command to sacrifice his son Ishmael, yesterday.

Even in the most joyful times, Muslims make a fresh start of a new day by a session of congregational prayers to Allah in an open space. They use the occasion to pray to Allah and to glorify His name to demonstrate the remembrance of His grace.

Eid-ul-Adha also known as "Feast of Sacrifice", Muslims around the world celebrated this that marks the end of the hajj pilgrimage by killing cattle, cow, goats, and camels on this day. Women, men, and children wore their nicest clothing. In addition, it is also a time when Muslims pray for forgiveness from God and strength of faith. They in turn, forgive others, releasing any feelings of enmity or ill feeling toward others.

In commemoration of this important festivity for our brother Muslims, PNoy declared October 6, 2014 a regular holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Adha.
